BUCKLEY AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. -- Buckley Air Force Base leadership has been notified by the Tri-County Public Health Department that a dependent spouse of a service member has tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19) infection.

All members of this individual’s family are at home being monitored by the Tri-County Public Health Department.

As a result, several precautionary measures have been put in place. The A-Basin Child Development Center is being temporarily closed for health and safety precautionary measure and recommended cleaning and sanitation. As several members are anticipated to be impacted by this closure, the installation commander has asked supervisors of these individuals to grant liberal work at home options, to include telework options, allowing parents to stay home with their children. Please note, the Crested Butte Child Development Center will not accept children from the A-Basin Child Development Center due to cross contamination prevention efforts.

The Buckley AFB clinic is not able to conduct testing for COVID-19. All testing is performed through the Colorado Health Department. Team Buckley members who are feeling ill during duty hours are encouraged to contact the Buckley AFB clinic at 720-847-9355 for specific guidance on how to proceed. If members are feeling ill after duty hours, they can contact the nurse advice line at 800-874-2273 for further direction.

The Tri-County Public Health Department and Team Buckley are continuing to track the ongoing COVID-19 situation. Buckley AFB leadership will continue to monitor the situation and more information will be provided as it becomes available.
