Aaron Cram 460th Space Wing Public Affairs BUCKLEY AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. -- One of the 566th Information Operations Squadron's noncommissioned officers was named the National Security Agency and Central Security Service Military Performer of the Year for 2005.Staff Sgt. Jared, a reporting and guidance coordinator, beat out members from all military branches to capture the award."I feel very honored to even be nominated for such an award," Jared said. "It really shows how great my senior NCOs are; not just in mentoring their Airmen, but in taking the time to nominate their people."Jared's primary duties support all aspects of consolidated reporting policies, processes and standards for more than 50 multi-service military, government civilian and contractor personnel. He also creates, edits and maintains web-based reporting guidance and online working aids. Additionally, Sergeant Hershman spent more than half of 2005 deployed to Iraq.Master Sgt. Adam, Jared's supervisor in the 566th IOS, believed Sergeant Hershman's accomplishments more than warranted the award."There are a great number of exceptional Airmen that never get written up for any award," Adam said. "They show up every day and do a superb job. These are the same individuals that will never ask to be written up. Jared is this type of person. Anyone that has had the pleasure to work with him will tell you he is a top military performer. I just put his work down on paper and let others be the judge."Almost mirroring his supervisor's words, Jared credited a number of others for winning the award."The Air Force really is a family that takes care of each other," he said. "I couldn't have done the things I have without all of the help that I got from my co-workers."
