Space Based Infrared System Mission Control Station Block 10 Ground System begins operational missions

Space operators with the 2nd Space Warning Squadron pose for a photo outside the Space Based Infrared System Mission Control Station after the SBIRS Block 10 Ground System certification to operational status occurred on May 23, 2016, at Buckley Air Force Base, Colo. The system had previously been in the testing and evaluation phase since Oct. 2014, but now, the 460th Space Wing is flying operational mission satellites twenty four hours a day, seven days a week.
