Space Operations Command recently took control of the Space Based Infrared System (SBIRS) Geosynchronous Earth Orbit (GEO) Satellite-6 from Space Systems Command on March 24, 2023.

At approximately 8 p.m. on April 22, out of an abundance of caution, Buckley Air Force Base leadership closed the A-Basin Child Development Center until further notice as a result of a potential coronavirus (COVID-19) case for one of the employees. Everyone this employee has been in contact with has been notified. The Crested Butte Child Development Center is expected to open on April 27 to accommodate and care for the children who were attending the A-Basin Child Development Center.

At approximately 5:30 p.m., on March 13, 2020, Buckley Air Force Base leadership was notified that the pending results for a service member and his second child both came back negative for COVID-19.

At approximately 3:30 p.m., March 12, 2020, Buckley Air Force Base leadership was notified by the Tri-County Health Department, Colorado, that a child of a service member on Buckley tested negative for COVID-19. Additionally, the service member and his other child showed symptoms of COVID-19 and were tested and are pending results.
