460th MSG Airman passes SERE selection

Staff Sgt. Macey Cerny, a Cyber Systems operator from the 460th Mission Support Group Information Technology Flight, recently passed selection for the Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape (SERE) training pipeline, with hopes to become one of the very few female SERE specialists in the Air Force. The SERE selection course is a prerequisite course to the training pipeline to become a SERE specialist. The course covers a wide variety of things from classroom work and building shelters, to leadership skills and time management, and integrative rigorous physical training.

Following the evacuation of over 60,000 Afghan refugees, members attached to Buckley Space Force Base and Space Delta 4 are working tirelessly to provide a magnitude of humanitarian efforts in support of Operation Allies Refuge. As the gravity of what was occurring became clearer, volunteers stepped up. The Air Force’s core value of “service before self” is continually demonstrated through the character and dedication of its members. Throughout the summer of 2021, multiple teams took charge of different projects for the operation.

Fast forward six and a half decades, and development of space technology continues to shape the future of our national security. To meet this need for robust space technology development, a first-ever Space Test Fundamentals Course was designed within the world-renowned United States Air Force Test Pilot School, which convened on Jan. 4, 2021. Out of 165 applicants, 15 were selected to attend this inaugural course. Of those 15 students, Space Delta 4 was proud to nominate 1st Lt. Emily Remeta, a mission commander from the 7th Space Warning Squadron at Beale Air Force Base, California.

The United States Space Force’s cyber Guardians are trained in more than just their original Air Force Specialty Codes. These warriors are leading the forefront in the cyber warfare domain as they are trained to develop software and code. Out of 400 people, 25 members were selected to attend the “Supra Coders” course, and five of those chosen are assigned to Space Delta 4.
