How do your day-to-day duties contribute to mission success?
We are developing and perfecting the training program that will ensure knowledgeable and proficient mission personnel for years to come.

If you could change one thing about the Air Force what would it be?
More assignments and opportunities for the space systems operator career field members.

What has been your most memorable experience in the Air Force?
Deployments, and more specifically, my deployment to the Combined Air Operations Center as a Space Liaison at Prince Sultan Air Base, Saudi Arabia, from December 2001 to April 2002.

Duties, responsibilities and accomplishments:
I am the day-staff mission crew chief instructor.
I perform mission data processing and monitor mission data for candidate tracks using Air Force Space Command's only space-based taskable sensor.
I perform strategic and theater missile detection using the $16 billion Space-Based Infrared System.
I collect and report worldwide surveillance infrared data of operational value received from the SBIRS satellites in direct support of national security and global air and space defense.
I optimize global infrared detection by creating and monitoring areas of interest tasked by higher headquarters.
I manually collect infrared data to ensure valid battlespace characterization for warfighters worldwide.
I assess quality of mission data and associated ground systems to maintain global missile warning coverage.
I provide real-time assessment and reporting of high-interest mission events.
I detect and document system limitations and deficiencies supporting system development and software testing.
I create, implement and validate policies and procedures to support performance upgrades to SBIRS' architecture.
