Chief Master Sgt. Marlene Locks is the Senior Enlisted Leader for Space Base Delta 2, Buckley Space Force Base, Colorado. In this capacity she is the principal advisor to the installation commander on all matters concerning morale, welfare, training, and professional development of 1,020 personnel delivering Base Operational Support at 14 operating locations world-wide, executing critical United States Space Force Missile Warning and Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance missions. In addition, the installation hosts 6 wings (or equivalents) and 117 mission partners as well as supporting over 12,000 base personnel and a 98,000-retiree population.
Chief Locks enlisted in the Air Force in 2003 as a Security Forces member. She served at both Cheyenne Mountain AFS, CO and RAF Lakenheath, England before volunteering for an assignment as a recruiter, landing her back in Colorado. Chief Locks took the opportunity to retrain into the Space Operations career field where she attended technical training at Vandenberg AFB, CA. and immediately assigned to Schriever AFB, CO as a Wideband Global SATCOM Vehicle Operator. She then moved over to be the Training, Development and Evaluations, Flight Chief at the Advanced Space Operations School, Peterson AFB, CO. She was then selected for First Sergeant Duty, completing a 4 year tour at Offutt AFB, NE serving the 20th Intelligence Squadron and the 55th Operations Support Squadron where she deployed as the First Sergeant for the 368th Expeditionary Air Operations Group at Camp Arifjan, Kuwait. Upon completion of her First Sergeant tour and culminating her time in the United States Air Force she transferred to the United States Space Force on 01 September 2020. Serving at the 18 Space Control Squadron, Detachment 1’s Superintendent and National Reconnaisnce Office, Delta 25’s Senior Enlisted Leader.
