The Airman and Family Readiness Center kicked off Military Saves Month with a proclamation signing by Col. Shawn Thompson, 460th Mission Support Group commander, Feb. 2, 2018, at the Airman and Family Readiness Center on Buckley Air Force Base, Colorado.

Military Saves Month is a campaign by the nonprofit Consumer Federation of America which looks to educate military members and their families on how to reduce debt, save money, and increase their wealth.

“The program aims to get military members to save and invest so that they can be financially secure heading into retirement or separation,” said Patricia Pope, 460th Airman and Family Readiness Center flight chief. “Through compound interest, even the smallest amount of money can grow to a substantial amount.”

Several events and classes are offered over the month that provide military members and their families with the resources and tools to help with financial decision making. In order to attend a course, please register by calling the Airman and Family Readiness Center at 720-847-6681
