The CES team convoyed early on May 23 with members of the Buckley Garrison Inspection Team and departed for Piñon Canyon Maneuver Site in southern Colorado where they conducted numerous trainings, such as land navigation and sling-loading helicopters, and also prepared a dirt runway for tactical landings.

The purpose of the exercise was to train multi-capable airmen for the challenges they will face in a deployed environment.

The Total-Force Integrated exercise encompassed members from the 40th Airlift Squadron at Dyess Air Force Base, 302nd Airlift Wing and the 21st CES squadron's EOD flight from Peterson Air Force Base, the 621 Mobility Support Operations Squadron, as well as the Colorado National Guard Aviation unit from Buckley.
