Team Buckley recognizes the accomplishments of an outstanding Airman.

Airman 1st Class Clint Shields, 460th Contracting Squadron, contracting specialist, took home first place in two categories at the 2011 National Physique Committee, General Nutrition Center Southern Colorado and Armed Forces bodybuilding and physique championships in Colorado Springs, Colo. on May 14.

The competition was open to anyone who wanted to compete.

"The competition included competitors from all over the state," said Airman Shields. "Having the opportunity to compete at the state level was a big accomplishment for me."
There ended up being a total of 20 competitors that I was up against," said Airman Shields.

"I have always been a fan of weightlifting," said Airman Shields. "Becoming a bodybuilder is the next goal on my list to accomplish."

It takes consistent hard work and dedication to become a successful weightlifter.

"I have been preparing for this competition since mid. March but have been involved in weight lifting throughout high school" said Airman Shields. "It has been five year's total."
"Weightlifting is a very good hobby for all Airmen to get involved in," said Airman Shields. "It keeps you physically fit, it's inexpensive, and it helps keeps your body tuned for the Air Force mission."

After competing at the state level, Airman Shields, is not planning on stopping there.

"My future plans are to compete at the National Qualifier in October," said Airman Shields. If I am successful there I will be eligible to go to the USA Nationals in November."
