BUCKLEY SPACE FORCE BASE, Colo. -- U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Maj. Troy E. Black, the Senior Enlisted Advisor to the Chairman (SEAC), visited Buckley Space Force Base on June 13, 2024, engaging with enlisted service members to discuss crucial topics affecting their service and well-being.
SEAC Black also promoted fostering deeper connections within the military community and with international allies. He emphasized the importance of building strong, meaningful relationships, which he believes are essential for the effectiveness of the Joint Force in warfighting scenarios.
"Every single one of us has collaborated with members from our allied nations,” SEAC Black said, referring to Buckley Space Force Base military members. “They always look to us for one reason, because our Non-commissioned Officer Corps is absolutely the strategic advantage that we have over our adversaries,” remarked SEAC Black.
During his time at Buckley, SEAC Black focused on quality of life improvements, the importance of Enlisted Joint Professional Military Education, and the concept of conflict versus war within the context of great power competition. He highlighted the significance of holistic human performance, urging service members to strive for readiness.
"Our nation will remain sovereign and free, along with our partners and allies because of the exceptional capabilities, training and education that are invested in you," SEAC Black said in reference to Buckley SFB military members.
TSgt. Kimberly Hughey, Inspector General Superintendent, who had the opportunity to hear from SEAC Black at an All-Call, expressed her appreciation for her insights.
"The SEAC Black visit yesterday was eye opening," Hughey said. "I know that as a force we have been foot-stomping the importance of our NCO corps, but I believe that SEAC Black is ready to actually empower NCOs to learn what is needed as we continue to our next fight.”
In addition to engaging with the enlisted personnel, SEAC Black also met with various agencies at Buckley Space Force Base. These interactions provided him with a comprehensive understanding of the base's air and space mission sets, highlighting its strategic importance in national defense.
As SEAC Black concluded his visit, the personnel at Buckley Space Force Base were left with a renewed sense of purpose and a clearer direction on how to take care of their people, build strategic partnerships, and remain prepared to respond to any call to action.
"Every single one of you is so valued that if you were to leave the service today, you’d be irreplaceable,” Black concluded. “You are irreplaceable because of the time, experience, and investment that have been dedicated to your development.”
