BUCKLEY AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. -- BUCKLEY AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. -- Col. Devin Pepper, 460th Space Wing commander, is scheduled to host Town Hall meetings to answer any questions and address concerns that Team Buckley has in response to the coronavirus (COVID-19).
The first Town Hall meeting is scheduled for tonight at 6 p.m., and the next is scheduled for tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. Both will take place at the Fellowship Hall in the Base Chapel and are open to all members of Team Buckley. The final Town Hall meeting is exclusively for base housing residents and will take place tomorrow at 6 p.m., in the Buckley Family Housing Clubhouse.
The Town Hall meetings aim to educate everyone on how the virus is impacting the base with the increase of the Health Protection Conditions and what Buckley Air Force Base is doing to prevent potential widespread outbreak of COVID-19.
Good hygiene practices are the best preventive measure to control the spread of viruses. Things like washing your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, avoiding contact with those who have been sick, going to the doctor when you feel ill, and disinfecting frequently-touched surfaces help prevent the spread of COVID-19 and other viruses.
Team Buckley members who are feeling ill during duty hours are encouraged to contact the Buckley AFB clinic at 720-847-9355 for specific guidance on how to proceed. If members are feeling ill after duty hours, they can contact the nurse advice line at 800-874-2273 for further direction. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Colorado Department of Public Health and Team Buckley are continuing to track the ongoing COVID-19 situation.
