Broncos share fitness tips with Marines

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. --  Colorado Marines took a page out of Denver Broncos strength and conditioning coaches' playbooks by learning fitness tips and techniques during a tour of the Broncos training facility June 7 in Englewood.
 
During the tour, the 12 Marines from Company B, Intelligence Support Battalion at Buckley Air Force Base, Colo. were shown the state-of-the-art exercise equipment used by the Broncos. They were given tips to improve overall health, physical fitness and exercise techniques.

The Buckley Marines plan to incorporate these tips into daily physical training sessions.

"We are definitely walking away with a couple good ideas, tips and techniques ... to get a little bit better for our combat fitness tests and physical fitness tests beyond our normal physical training," said Marine Corps Maj. Brendan Egan, Co. B, ISB executive officer.

The Marines tried out some of the equipment, which included climbing machines, squat racks, pneumatic weight machines and the unique Power Plate. The Power Plate is a machine designed to increase flexibility by sending energy-transmitting vibrations throughout the body.

"I think the purpose of everything today is that it is important for (service members) to be physically fit and active," said Anthony Lomando, Denver Broncos assistant strength and conditioning coach. "On our end, we are thankful for everything they do, and we are happy to have them in."
