Buckley extends CFC donation deadline Published Nov. 27, 2012 By Staff Sgt. Kali L. Gradishar 460th Space Wing Public Affairs BUCKLEY AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. -- The deadline to donate to the Buckley Combined Federal Campaign has extended to Dec. 15, meaning there's still time for people to donate to the charity of their choice. At the initial deadline of Nov. 22, the base had yet to meet stated goals. The annual goal of the CFC is to reach 100-percent contact with all members eligible to donate. For Team Buckley, additional goals include surpassing the 2011 participation rate of 26 percent and an unofficial goal to commit approximately $165,000 to the campaign. Currently, the base is only at a 10-percent participation rate and members have raised approximately $103,000, according to Tech. Sgt. John Harms 2nd Space Warning Squadron orbital analysis NCO in charge and Buckley CFC representative. The 2012 CFC is "about in line with last year," Harms said. "They had a slow start, it picked up in the middle and they had a strong finish." In the week prior to Thanksgiving there was double the amount of participation and base members donated approximately $28,500 that week, he said. Less than three weeks remain until the extended Dec. 15 deadline, so those who intend to donate should do so as soon as possible.
