Chenega, Buckley's silent guardian Published Aug. 24, 2011 By Airman Nigel R.Sims 460th Space Wing Public Affairs BUCKLEY AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. -- There are many different elements involved in Team Buckley's community that helps to keep service members as well as their family safe, and one of those elements that contributes is the Chenega Security and Protection Service. This law enforcement agency is compiled of seasoned professionals who have experience in the military, private security, and project management just to name a few. They are certified in many different fields, such as force protection, antiterrorism, law enforcement training, and service integration. Their mission for Team Buckley is to manage our installations entry and exit points to ensure service members and families remain safe from outside threats. The job that these members do is considered very important. By keeping all personnel and military members safe, this helps service members by giving them the opportunity to become very effective in their job, which plays on Team Buckley's mission readiness and success in completing our mission. "It feels good to help Team Buckley complete its mission," said William Slinger, Chenega Security Officer. "That's part of why I do it". "I feel that everyone should do their part in helping our great nation stay secure," said Chris Malloy, Chenega Security Officer. Unfortunately at the end of September, the contract between the military and Chenega will come to a close. These men and women have devoted countless hours to make sure Team Buckley remains as secure as can be. The way we can honor Chenega is by saying thank you whenever possible. The idea of letting them know that they are appreciated goes a long way.
