Buckley to host Military Retiree Appreciation Day Published July 19, 2011 460th Sspace Wing Public Affairs BUCKLEY AIR FORCE BASE, Colo-- -- The 460th Space Wing will host the 13th Annual Military Retiree Appreciation Day July 23 to honor military retirees from all branches of service in Northern Colorado. Retired service members and their families are invited to attend activities at the Leadership Development Center, Bldg. 1032, from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The keynote speaker for the event will be retired Maj. Gen. Mason Whitney, former Adjutant General of Colorado and retired Chief MSgt. Ken Melcher from the Colorado Veterans Council, who will discuss issues concerning retirees. Dozens of support agencies, retiree and veterans groups will be on hand to provide information and answer questions. Retirees will also have an opportunity to renew identification cards, prepare wills and seek powers of attorney. Participating organizations include the Veterans Administration, the National Association for Uniformed Services, the American Legion, the Fleet Reserve Association, the Military Officer Association, the Air Force Association, the Retired Enlisted Association, Arapahoe County Veterans Service Office, Veterans Administration Medical Center, TriWest Healthcare Alliance, Buckley Casualty Affairs and much more.
