Members of Team Buckley joined one another to officially open the Youth Center here June 30, 2011.

More than 200 members from around the base were on hand to help in the celebration of the new youth center.

Maj. Beth Huffman with the 460 Force Support Squadron, was the mistress of ceremonies during the dedication of the state of the art facility for the youth and an area to provide quality programs for Buckley's youth.

"442 days ago we did the ground breaking ceremony not far from here," said Col. Trent Pickering. "Then to be here and to walk into this building and see this awesome facility and to see what the kids are going to be able to do in here, makes me want to be a kid again. This is an absolutely gorgeous facility."

Many distinguished guests, such as State Representative, Sue Ryan was on hand, and was very impressed with the facility and the commitment the base has made to Buckley's youth.

Team Buckley's new 19,540 sq. ft. youth center took an estimated $4.5 million dollars to build.
