The Aurora Chamber of Commerce' s 35th Annual Armed Forces Recognition Luncheon is set for May 13 at 11 a.m. at the Crown Plaza Convention Center at I-70 and Chambers.

The AFRL recognizes 11 of the best of all the military serving in the greater Aurora and Denver metro area. Last year 700 military, civilian and community members attended the luncheon to help recognize military members in the community.

"It is the only one of its kind in this area," stated Kevin Hougen, Aurora Chamber of Commerce President and Chief Executive Officer. "Working with the local units, we select the best of the best in the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force and Coast Guard as well as their Reserve and Guard components and present them an award, lots of recognition and some gifts from the community at large."

The Chamber also recognizes a civilian in the community with the Bob Cardenas Award for their support to veteran's activities in the community.

Ticket prices are: Finalist and spouse are free; E-1 to E-4 are $10; E-5 to E-6 are $15; E-7 to E-9 and O-1 to 02 are $20; O-3 and above are $25; DoD Civilians are $30 and non-DoD Civilians are $35. Ticket prices are per person.

Tickets are available through the Chamber or most military public affairs offices. Cash or checks made out to the Aurora Chamber of Commerce are accepted.
