Airmen, Soldiers race gokarts to raise awareness Published Feb. 14, 2011 By Master Sgt. J. LaVoie 460th Space Wing Public Affairs BUCKLEY AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. -- Buckley Airmen will take on Fort Carson soldiers on the gokart track Feb. 20 at 11 a.m. in the first ever Racing for Heroes at the UnserRacing track. Though everyone is invited, after the main event, reducing racing prices will be in effect for military members with an active-duty identification card. Additionally, lunch will be served for free for people who participate in the event. The event is being organized by Craig Mansfield, the father of Senior Airman Kristopher Mansfield, a 460th Space Communication's Airman who was killed by a drunk driver. The event will be used to raise awareness about the dangers of drunk driving. The track is located at Interstate 25 and Highway 36.
