The Air Force Assistance Fund Campaign is an annual, on-the-job fundraising appeal conducted among Air Force personnel for the benefit of Air Force personnel. The AFAF Campaign begins at Buckley Air Force Base Feb 7 and will continue for 6 consecutive weeks through Mar 18. Contributions to the AFAF Campaign provide financial support to four AFAF affiliates: the Air Force Aid Society, Air Force Village, Air Force Enlisted Village and the General and Mrs. Curtis E. LeMay Foundation. Through generous donations, the AFAF affiliate charities have been able to continue providing Airmen with a full range of much-needed services: The Air Force Aid Society is always there with emergency financial assistance, educational loans and spouse tuition assistance, as well as more than ten community programs to help Airmen and their families cope with the stresses of military life and deployments; the Air Force Village and Air Force Enlisted Village provide retirees' widows and widowers with a home and community to live in and be cared for; and the LeMay Foundation seeks out and lends a helping hand to widows and widowers of Air Force retirees through financial grants of assistance.

There are two ways to contribute to the AFAF Campaign; payroll deduction plan allotments and by cash or check. The easiest and most convenient way to contribute to the four affiliate charities is through the payroll deduction plan. This program automatically deducts monthly tax-deductable contributions from military and retiree pay beginning June 1. Contributions to the AFAF Campaign are a great opportunity for Air Force members to take care of other Air Force members.

Be on the lookout for unit representatives and key campaign workers spreading the word about this incredible campaign and providing opportunities for Air Force personnel to donate to the four AFAF affiliate charities. Please take a few moments and go to www.afassistancefund.org to find links to personal testimonies of how these four charities have made such a positive impact in the lives of Air Force personnel and their families.
