Freedom Fest participants celebrated the Independence Day weekend and the event's third year with performances by the Aurora Symphony Orchestra Brass Quintet and local band Homeslice, food and drinks from local vendors, a climbing wall, pie-eating contest and other activities from base groups.

Also a highlight of the event, the Chiefs vs Eagles Softball Game ended with the base commanders (the Eagles) winning 12-11 in a surprise victory over Buckley's enlisted leadership (the Chiefs).
