CGOC helps Habitat for Humanity Published June 16, 2010 By Master Sgt. J. LaVoie 460th Space Wing Public Affairs BUCKLEY AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. -- Team Buckley's Company Grade Officer Council just completed one of their largest local Habitat for Humanity projects to date. Over two days, ten company grade officers worked on 24 homes. In total, the officers worked 160 hours to house 56 people. "Habitat for Humanity provides a great public service, helping those who choose to help themselves. The future owners put a lot of sweat equity into their homes," said 2nd Lt. Jessica Gruver Koefod. "We wanted to make the community a better place to work and live, and that includes providing shelter - that provides a lot of personal satisfaction." Team Buckley's CGOC has a long standing relationship with Habitat for Humanity, and has volunteered with the organization each quarter for the last two years. They have done everything from shovel rock and put in stability beams to hang doors and paint walls.
