Two Airmen from the 460th Space Communications Squadron were recognized as the best in their tier at 14th Air Force March 18.

Master Sgt. Christopher Hart, at the time the 460th SCS Satellite Systems Section chief, is the 2009 14th AF Senior NCO of the Year. Senior Airman Robert Kafka III, 460th SCS infrastructure systems journeyman, is the 2009 14th Air Force Airman of the Year.

"Master Sgt. Hart and Airman Kafka are truly superb examples of the Air Force core values," said Lt. Col. Keith Skinner, deputy commander of the 460th Operations Group, under which the 460th SCS falls. "Our Operations Group motto is 'Excellence is our standard, Outstanding is our goal,' and these two fine Airmen exemplify that in everything they accomplish."

Among many other accomplishments, Sergeant Hart, now the Team Buckley Career Advisor with the 460th Force Support Squadron, headed a million-dollar Space-Based Infrared System installation project, worked for self-improvement by completing seven courses toward his Master of Business Administration degree and served his Team Buckley community as Air Force Sergeants Association Capter 1179 vice president.

Airman Kafka, a John Levitow Award winner at Airman Leadership School, also overhauled a network at one of Team Buckley's geographically separated units, completed his Community College of the Air Force degree and served more than 120 hours with the Mile High Honor Guard.

"I am extremely proud to have these all-stars represent the men and women of the 460th Operations Group at any level of competition," Colonel Skinner said.
