566th IS promotes two via STEP program Published March 16, 2010 BUCKLEY AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. -- Every year, wing commanders have an opportunity to promote a few outstanding Airmen through the Stripes for Exceptional Performers (STEP) program. Each year, the Air Force releases a limited number of STEP-promotion slots, which are then divided between major commands and installation wings. The program awards promotion to Airmen who have gone above and beyond and have demonstrated their readiness to perform at a higher level of responsibility. Colonel John Bansemer, 70th Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Wing commander, promoted two 566th Intelligence Squadron Airmen under the STEP program before a physical fitness session with the squadron during his visit to Buckley Air Force Base January 15. Promoted to technical sergeant was Staff Sgt. Linda Davis, who is currently deployed as Analysis, Correlation and Fusion NCO in charge of current operations. She is married to Tech. Sgt. Kirk Davis and has two kids, Elijah and Mason. Promoted to master sergeant was Tech. Sgt. John Gwartney, Analysis Division section chief and Echo Flight deputy flight chief, 566th Intelligence Squadron, with duty at the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency. He and his wife, Cori, have six kids, Victoria, Juan, Taylor, Alycia, Cody and Ethan.
