Earl Mikula, 460th Civil Engineer Squadron, is Team Buckley's Warrior of the Week for Jan. 11.

Mr. Mikula is from Thornton, Colo., served in the Army 26 years and has worked for 31 years as a civilian, 10 of which have been at Buckley Air Force Base. He enjoys all outdoor sports, racing a U.S. Air Force-sponsored car and, most enjoyably, working with handicapped children.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

Working with contractors (various types of people) wanting to give the best quality product back to the government. Working with people who want to make the military life a better environment.

What accomplishment are you most proud of?

The construction projects when completed that allow the "Airmen" a better way of life.

Why is serving your country important to you?

While serving in the military for 26 Years, I'm grateful for the freedom that it provides me.

What are your personal and career goals?

To provide a better environment for all our military service members and to ensure that our tax dollars are being spent appropriately.

Is there any advice you'd like to give fellow Airmen?

Life is not only about receiving, but giving back to secure the precious gift of freedom.
