Back for the 20th consecutive year, SnoFest, a military winter sports weekend tradition since 1989, is forecast to hit the Front Range at Keystone Resort Jan. 29-31.

Hosting the event are Force Support Squadrons from Buckley, Schriever, Peterson and F.E. Warren Air Force Bases as well as units from Fort Carson and the U.S. Air Force Academy.

Friday and Saturday will host racing, including the Commander's Cup Traveling Trophy race for skiers and snowboarders on Friday and individual races on Saturday. Families, kids and adults can enter the cardboard derby to race home-built cardboard sleds on Saturday, or participate in a costumed snowshoe race later that day.

For the noncompetitive sorts, the event also features discounted lift tickets for the individual or the whole family.

Finally, for those not interested in skiing or snowboarding, other events including snow biking, tubing, snow-shoeing, cross-country skiing, ice skating, sleigh rides, yoga, spa treatments and fudge making abound to occupy the day. Adults can also participate in two wine tasting events, and all are welcome to attend two social gatherings on Friday and Saturday nights.
