460th CES sponsors Buckley holiday parade Published Dec. 17, 2009 By 460th Civil Engineer Squadron BUCKLEY AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. -- The third annual Buckley Holiday Parade will roll through Family Housing Dec. 23 at 5:30 p.m. The 460th Civil Engineer Squadron organizes the parade, but it also includes vehicles and personnel from the 460th Security Forces Squadron and the greater Buckley community. The parade has traditionally been a huge hit on Buckley Air Force Base. Even with the harshest winter weather Colorado has to offer, the streets have always been lined with families excited to see the parade of fire trucks, cop cars, construction equipment and command vehicles. The children, and maybe some grownups too, become absolutely ecstatic when they catch a glimpse of Santa Claus and Mrs. Clause aboard the fire engine. "What can I say, those two steal the show," said 1st Lt. Branson Goebel, 460th Civil Engineer squadron. "Between the firefighters, civil engineers, cops, all of our volunteers and of course the families, the enthusiasm is contagious. It's my third year planning this parade and I can say that it's impossible to be involved in this parade and not get caught up in the holiday spirit."
