  • Published

Senior Airman John Easterling, 460th Space Wing still photographic journeyman, is Team Buckley's Warrior of the Week for Oct. 30.

Airman Easterling is from Columbia, S.C., and has served in the Air Force for four years. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling, music, cooking, video games and reading.

Why was Airman Easterling nominated for Warrior of the Week?

"Senior Airman Easterling is one of the most motivated Airmen I've ever worked with. Though he has faced obstacles in his career, he always gives 100 percent to every task and project. His positive attitude is infectious and I would serve with him anywhere," said Tech. Sgt. Jill LaVoie, 460th SW Public Affairs NCO in charge.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

"It's always changing. Between meeting distinguished visitors, shooting studio photos, writing and editing stories and the opportunity to travel, my job constantly changes. I'm able to document all parts of our Air Force and even other military branches."

What accomplishment are you most proud of?

"I recently passed my physical training test and improved my score over 30 points with the help of the Health and Wellness Center staff and my supervision. I lost over 30 pounds doing so."

Why is serving your country important to you?

"I'm proud to have been able to serve my country. I wanted to be able to give something back. With the great pay, Post 9-11 GI Bill and Veterans Affairs, it's a win-win. The Air Force helped me mature and prepared me for the rest of my life."

What are your personal and career goals?

I'll be starting college and plan to get my Bachelor of Science in computer sciences in three years.

Is there any advice you'd like to give fellow Airmen?

"Integrity First. It doesn't mean you won't make mistakes, but it shows that you're trustworthy when you can be honest and help in correcting them."
