Team Buckley's Combined Federal Campaign kick-off will be Oct. 14, at the Fitness Center from 9:30 a.m. to noon. The event's keynote speaker is from the Make-a-Wish Foundation. During last year's CFC, Team Buckley raised more than $146,000.

There will be more than 70 charities attending the kick-off event allowing donors an opportunity to make their pledges, talk to charities and win an iPod.

The mission of the Combined Federal Campaign is to support and to promote philanthropy by creating a positive campaign environment which provides an efficient, effective and secure means for federal employees to come together for the purpose of improving the quality of life for all.

The Combined Federal Campaign is the only authorized solicitation of Federal employees in their workplace on behalf of the approved charities. The CFC began in the early 1960's to coordinate the fundraising efforts of various charitable organizations so that the Federal donor would be solicited only once in the workplace and have the opportunity to make charitable contributions through payroll deductions, allowing many the opportunity to do more for the causes they believe in.

Federal employees continue to make the CFC the largest and most successful workplace philanthropic fundraiser in the world, with $3.5 million in donations last year from the Denver Metro Campaign alone.

This year's message supports what we as a community can do together in order to support the Combined Federal Campaign.
