The cool, crisp morning air didn't stop Team Buckley Airmen from participating in the second Panther Pride golf tournament, Sept. 25. Airmen teed off at 8:30 a.m. at the Fitzsimons Golf Course with one goal in mind -- to raise revenues for charities, including Combined Federal Campaign.

Co-sponsored by the 460th Operations Group and the Buckley's Top 3 Association, the golf tournament was only the second Panther Pride base-wide tournament ever played.

According to the tournament co-chairman, Master Sgt. Christopher Hart, "The base held this tournament in 2007 to raise funds for the Enlisted Widows' Home....unfortunately, we had to forgo the 2008 tournament due to heavy deployments, which created a lack of personnel to support the event. "

That was not the story this year. More than 100 airmen were able to take part in the tournament. Through great cooperation and partnership from Fitzsimons Golf Club staff and generous donations, tournament directors were able to prorate entry fees, enabling greater participation from junior enlisted team members.

Sergeant Hart said, "We're very pleased with the outcome an impressive $2,070."
