Staff Sgt. Linda Davis, 566th IS Published April 27, 2009 WARRIOR OF THE WEEK -- Staff Sgt. Linda Davis, Unit Deployment Manager for the 566th Intelligence Squadron, is Team Buckley's Warrior of the Week for May 1-7. Sergeant Davis has been in the Air Force for 13 years. She hails from Sacramento, Calif., which is the home of the largest gold nugget ever found weighing 195 pounds. What is the combat capability that this person exemplified to earn the title, "Warrior of the Week?" "Sergeant Davis exemplifies the title 'Warrior.' She is a dedicated intelligence warfighter providing the right skills to various front lines," said Senior Master Sgt. Gabriel Estrada, 566th IS superintendent. "Through her diligent work, the squadron is able to provide forces to combatant commanders to conduct weapons inspections, interrogation analysis, police liaison, brigade electronic warfare operations and many other combat functions in Iraq, Afghanistan and stateside intelligence operations centers. Every day she is proactively working deployment taskings, monitoring deployed members, tracking readiness training, overseeing deployment processing and acting as the squadron's missing medical requirements point of contact. Her support to the squadron enabled our intelligence warriors to balance more than 50 tasked deployments." How do your day-to-day duties impact the Air Force mission? I prepare our Airmen for deployment ensuring they are mission and combat ready to deploy. If you could change one thing about the Air Force what would it be? The way promotions are calculated. Why do you serve? I love my country and I'm honored to put this uniform on every day. What has been your most memorable experience in the Air Force? Being a Military Training Leader, I loved mentoring and training tomorrow's Airmen. What is your most memorable personal accomplishment? The birth of my three boys. If you were not in the military, where would you be? Why? Sacramento, Calif., because I'm the only one who ever left. I'm guessing I would have stayed with all my family and friends. Where would you like to be in 10 years? What will you be doing? Hopefully retired and staying at home for a few years to focus on my children, their education and their activities.
