ALS graduates 12 future leaders

AURORA, Colo. -- Twelve Airmen from Buckley Air Force Base graduated from the base's Airman Leadership School March 27 at the Doubletree Hotel here, after a one-day delay because of a stereotypical Colorado spring blizzard.

The graduates were:

ALS is the first level of enlisted Professional Military Education and is designed to prepare senior airmen to be professional, warfighting Airmen who can supervise and lead Air Force work teams to support the employment of air, space and cyberspace power.

The students participate in 24 days, or 192 hours, of a demanding curriculum based on four graduate attributes: combat leader, military professional, supervisor of Airmen and supervisory communicator.

"This was a very bright and positive class," said Master Sgt. Sheryl Orawiec, ALS Commandant. "I am confident in their abilities to use the ALS tools to be solid, first-rate supervisors in the Air Force."

The graduates also earned ten credit hours through The Community College of the Air Force upon completion of the course.
