Patricia Toliver, 460th CONS Published March 6, 2009 TEAM BUCKLEY WARRIOR OF THE WEEK -- Patricia Toliver, a contract specialist from the 460th Contracting Squadron, was Team Buckley's Warrior of the Week from Feb. 27 - Mar. 5. She was selected by the 460th Space Wing Equal Opportunity Office because of her selfless dedication to the 2009 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Commemorative Committee, where she served as the chairperson. Ms. Toliver has worked on Buckley since Sept. 2, 2008. She hails from Gulfport, Miss., which is also home to the two-time Division 5A basketball champion Harrison Central Red Rebels. She enjoys reading in her free time. How do your day-to-day duties impact the Air Force mission? Looking at the big picture, I'm part of a team that ensures agencies under the 460th SW, including tenant units, are provided services and commodities necessary to accomplish their mission. We ensure commercial vendors are aware of opportunities to work with the government and create a cohesive balanced relationship with the government and commercial industry. Why do you serve? I serve to contribute to a cause greater than myself. What has been your most memorable experience in the Air Force? I have had many memorable experiences. However, as an Air Force civilian, while working on the 2009 Buckley Martin Luther King Jr. Committee, I saw a great deal of professionalism and dedication among the young Airmen on the committee. Any task given was performed without question and in a superior manner. I am proud to stand beside these young people as they serve and protect this nation. What is your most memorable personal accomplishment? Seeing the 2009 Buckley Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Commemorative Ceremony in a small way make people realize there are causes greater than self. If you were not in the military, where would you be? Why? I would be offering my services, to the less fortunate on a full-time basis. Where would you like to be in 10 years? What will you be doing? Helping and serving others in whatever capacity I am called. Military accomplishments: Retirement from the Air Force after 20 years of faithful service to my country.
