Airman 1st Class Mitchell Davis, 460th Operations Group

  • Published
Airman 1st Class Mitchell Davis, an information manager with the 460th Operations Group, is Team Buckley's Warrior of the Week for Dec. 19 - 25.

Airman Davis has served in the Air Force for one year and hails from Oscoda, Mich., where his senior football season at Oscoda High School had to be cancelled after four games because they didn't have enough players to play. He enjoys playing sports, guitar and working out in his spare time.

What is the combat capability that this person exemplified to earn the title, "Warrior of the Week?"
"Airman Davis currently occupies a one-deep position that was previously occupied by a master sergeant," said Chief Master Sgt. Grant Murphy, 460th OG Superintendent. "Nevertheless, he has excelled in tracking suspenses and coordinating virtually all group level correspondence. Since his arrival at Buckley, he has exhibited the leadership traits of a seasoned Non-Commissioned Officer and he personifies the Air Force Core Values. Simply put, Airman Davis' superb duty performance makes the OG staffs' jobs much easier!"

How do your day-to-day duties impact the Air Force mission?
I ensure the OG command staff's computers and other data processing equipment are fully functioning. Additionally, I manage correspondence within the group, to include Enlisted Performance Reports, decorations, letters for signature and other items. I also track internal and external suspenses and aid in the management of the group staff's schedules.

If you could change one thing about the Air Force what would it be?
I would like to see the military keep the jobs that have been contracted out to civilians.

Why do you serve?
To serve my country and gain discipline

What has been your most memorable experience in the Air Force?
Having the opportunity to travel and experience other areas.

What is your most memorable personal accomplishment?
Joining the Air Force.

If you were not in the military, where would you be? Why?
I'd be in college studying sports medicine -- it's an interest of mine.

Where would you like to be in 10 years? What will you be doing?
I'd like to be an officer or have a great-paying job.
