Message from 460th MDG commander Published Oct. 3, 2007 By Col. Michael Chyrek 460th Medical Group commander BUCKLEY AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. -- Buckley War-Fighters and Family Members, Our warrior medics of the 460th Medical Group must be physically fit to support the Air Force Mission. To ensure our medics have the time for physical fitness the clinic hours will change on Oct. 1. The new clinic hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. In response to Interim Change 2007-1 to AFI 10-248, Fitness Program, dated Aug. 14, 2007, I must ensure my medics have time in their duty day to comply with fitness guidelines. The new guidelines identify a score of 75 as the lowest score to meet standards on the fitness test. Those scoring less than 75 do not meet standards. The marginal category that once existed has been eliminated. A do not meet standards can now be recorded on the military members OPR/EPR forms. Therefore, my goal is to provide the opportunity for fitness in their daily Air Force culture by providing sufficient time to participate in a year-round physical conditioning program that emphasizes total fitness.
