  • Published
Buckley Air Force Base will host its ninth annual Military Retiree Appreciation Day Aug. 18 in Hangar 909 from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on base.

This event honors all front-range military retirees from all branches of service and features speakers, exhibits and food.

Nearly 50 organizations ranging from federal agencies like the Department of Veterans Affairs and Social Security Administration to many base, local and private organizations will be on hand to provide information about the services they provide.

"This should be the best Retiree Appreciation Day we've ever had as we have included several additional areas of interest never had before," said retired Chief Master Sgt. Robert Van Sciver, Buckley Retiree Activities Office. "We encourage every military retiree to come out to the base to see what is available."

Buckley is located approximately three miles east of the intersection of I-225 and Sixth Avenue in Aurora, Colo. Participants are asked to use the Aspen Street Gate, which is one mile east of Airport Boulevard on Sixth Avenue. Once on base follow the event parking signs.
