Team Buckley has 'new' hangout Published Feb. 12, 2007 By Tech. Sgt. Aaron Cram 460th Space Wing Public Affairs BUCKELY AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. -- Team Buckley members have a "new" place to unwind. Newtch's Den opened Feb. 5 at a stop familiar to many people at Buckley - the former High Frontier Dining Facility. The lounge offers a variety of games, drinks, finger foods, and a place to watch television on one of six big-screen televisions. "Newtch's Den is a place to go to relax and unwind after a long day at work," said Terri Holst, Community Activity Center manager. "It's a place where you or you and your co-workers can go and have a beverage of your choice and chit chat, play pool, watch television, play darts, dominoes, cards, video games, listen to music or just hang out without having to leave the base." The den offers entertainment such as video golf, pinball, tabletop video games, foosball, a jukebox and pool tables. The finger foods offered are mozzarella cheese sticks, fried mushrooms, chicken fry bites, jalapeno poppers, bottle caps (fried and breaded jalapenos), wings, baked pretzels and potato wedges. The lounge is open from 4-10 p.m. Thursday and 4 p.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday. Ms. Holst said future hours of operation will be based on customer patronage. The name for the lounge comes from the Native American word Newtch, which means coyote. Newtch is also the name of the 460th Services Division mascot.
