Name: Mr. Walter DeClue

Time in Service: 24 years, six months and two days active duty, retired in August 2005, and one year as a Department of Defense employee

Duty Title: Chief of logistics plans

Hobbies: Hunting, fishing, and gardening

How do your day-to-day duties contribute to mission success?
I provide notification, training and guidance to the wing on deployments, the Aerospace Expeditionary Force Reporting Tool, and In-Garrison Expeditionary Site Planning. I also ensure all squadron and group commanders are up-to-date on the previously listed issues.

If you could change one thing about the Air Force what would it be?
I would change the AEF tour length to one year making each deployment 365 days in length, giving short-tour credit to each person deployed.

What has been your most memorable experience in the Air Force?
Earning my beret. I was in security forces for 20 years before I was forced to retrain into logistics. Also, having someone say, "thank you for your service," was a memorable moment.

Duties, responsibilities, and accomplishments:
I perform day-to-day work for the logistics readiness office, installation deployment officer, and I assist in the development and planning of the mobility plans/programs for contingency operations.

I am the supervisor of all logistics planners assigned to the 460th Space Wing.

I received Inspector General Outstanding Performer Coin for contributions during the October 2005 Operational Readiness Inspection.
