As the winter season approaches, Buckley Space Force Base residents and personnel must be well-informed about the snow call line and how it operates. This valuable service keeps everyone updated on the current weather conditions and the status of base operations during adverse weather.

Empower yourself by utilizing the snow call line at 720-847-SNOW (7669). This tool allows you to stay in control by quickly checking the status of base operations and reporting times and receiving updates on the latest weather conditions. The line is typically updated by 5 p.m. when inclement weather is forecasted to impact operations or travel.

When the snow call line is activated, base personnel and residents should listen to the recording to learn the status of base operations. The recording will provide information on whether the base is open, closed, or operating on a delayed schedule. It will also give the latest information on any road closures or hazardous driving conditions.

In addition to calling the snow call line, you can stay informed by turning on the TV or radio. Local television stations carry delayed reporting and early-release information.  Also, remember to check the “Buckley Space Force Base” and “460th Force Support Squadron” Facebook pages for timely updates as well.

For base personnel, if you have not taken the time to update your AtHoc account with updated information, now is the time to do so, but clicking on the purple globe.

It's important to know that "mission essential" personnel are those who must report to duty during inclement weather or emergency situations. These individuals are identified by their commanders and are required to report to work regardless of the status of base operations.

If you have questions about who is considered mission essential, please contact your supervisor. The safety of base personnel and residents is always the top priority during inclement weather. You should always follow the guidance provided on the snow call line and should not attempt to travel during hazardous driving conditions.

By being aware of the snow call line number, reporting times, and what mission essential means, base personnel and residents can stay safe and informed during the winter season. Stay safe and have a great winter!
