Access Procedures: Obtaining a Visitor Pass at Buckley Space Force Base

January 3, 2025, Buckley Space Force Base enhanced its security measures to ensure the safety of everyone on base. As part of this change, the Trusted Traveler Program was suspended, and all visitors, regardless of accompaniment, must obtain a base visitor's pass.

Entering Buckley SFB requires compliance with the following procedures:

Determine Your Visitor Category:

  • Official Visitors: These include government contractors, non-DoD guests of an organization, etc. These individuals must contact the host organization's designated official base access sponsor.
  • Unofficial Visitors: These individuals must request an Unofficial Base Pass from the Visitor Control Center and can select from the following two options.

Option 1: In-Person Pass Pickup (Requires Sponsor):

  • Step 1: Arrive with your sponsor at the VCC during operating hours or the Mississippi Gate outside regular duty hours. Provide a valid form of identification and effective May 7, 2025 a REAL ID-compliant identification document. You can find more information on REAL ID here. Those driving onto the base must also present proof of insurance and vehicle registration. Visitors aged 15 or younger do not need passes but must always be accompanied by individuals with proper credentials.
  • Step 2: Security Forces will conduct a background check. Individuals aged 16 and older will provide their SSN, photograph, and fingerprints for Defense Biometric Identification System enrollment.
  • Step 3: Upon approval, your information and visit duration will be recorded in the DBIDS.
  • Step 4: The visitor will wet sign the printed DBIDS Visitor Pass and be able to use it for base access, while valid, with their compliant identification document.

Option 2: DBIDS Pre-Enrollment (Saves Time, No Sponsor Needed for Pickup):

  • Visitor Actions (At least 3 Business Days in Advance):
  • Step 1: Visit https://dbids-global-enroll.dmdc.mil/preenrollui/ to pre-enroll with DBIDS.
  • Step 2: Copy down the alphanumeric code from the DBIDS pre-enrollment page.
  • Step 3: Send the code and photocopy of the front and back of your compliant identification, email address, phone number, and your visit date to your sponsor.

The sponsor can complete the visitor's pre-enrollment registration.

  • Sponsor Actions:
  • Step 1: The sponsor will email the following to 460sfs.vcgate@us.af.mil:
    • Sponsor's full name
    • Sponsor's Date of Birth
    • Sponsor's Phone number
    • Sponsor's Photocopy of CAC, Retired ID, Dependent ID, DBIDS card, or front and back of Veterans Health ID card.
    • Visitor's alphanumeric code from the steps above
    • Visitor's email address
    • Visitor's license/ID, front and back
    • Dates of visit

Steps for Visitor Pass Pickup – Sponsor escort NOT required if pre-enrolled through DBIDS

  • Step 1: The visitor arrives at Buckley Visitor Control Center or the Mississippi Gate outside regular duty hours. Visitors receiving a pass must provide a valid form of identification and effective May 7, 2025 a REAL ID-compliant identification document.  If they intend to drive onto the base, they must also provide current proof of insurance and vehicle registration.
  • Step 2: Security Forces will conduct a background check on visitors.
  • Step 3: If approved, the visitor's DBIDS profile will be completed with a photo and index finger scan.
  • Step 4: The duration of the visit will be recorded in DBIDS. The visitor will print and wet sign the DBIDS Visitor Pass.

Other forms of approved identification include:

  • Passport
  • Permanent Resident Card
  • Employment Authorization Document
  • Tribal ID

Note: Visitors who are not U.S. citizens must undergo additional background checks and processing before being issued a visitor's pass.
