Name:  Mariesha Braley

Unit/Job title:  460th Force Support Squadron education services officer

Length of Service:  11 years, 10 months

Hometown:  Mililani, Hawaii

Hobbies:   Home Improvement, reading Victorian prose and poetry, and education

Unique fact:   Deployed to Afghanistan for a year

Mariesha joined Air Force Civil Service in 2004. She interned at Hickham Air Force Base and was then stationed at Ramstein Air Force Base, Germany in 2005. In 2008, she moved to Buckley Air Force Base as an education counselor. Since arriving at Buckley, she has moved up quickly and become the education services officer. She has a husband, DJ, who is a police officer in Lakewood.

Mariesha Braley has been doing outstanding work for Buckley AFB since her arrival, but she has set the bar incredibly high this past year. After reviewing a needs assessment that identified a desire for on-base courses, Ms. Braley sought out numerous educational programs and finally settled on Community College of the Air Force coursework offered by Colorado Christian University. Within the first two hours of CCU being on the base, there were 42 enrollments in CCAF courses. This past year, she has also engineered and built a commercial testing lab to enable testing at Buckley AFB that wasn't previously offered. Innovative testing solutions, a robust learning resource center that has issued out 659 study guides in the past year and the creation of a Buckley Week of Education are just some examples of her innovative accomplishments. Mariesha Braley exemplifies integrity first, service before self, and excellence in all we do, all the time, everyday.
