Nowakowski 460th Space Wing Public Affairs BUCKLEY AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. -- Buckley Air Force Base has gained more food options with the arrival of new food trucks on base. There are now three food trucks that service the base during the day. These trucks are available for service between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. in front of The Exchange. Buckley was able to gain access to more trucks by recruiting trucks from the Denver Civic Center and University of Colorado Hospital areas, said Michael Sear, Base Exchange services business manager. The trucks were then approved by the base public health department before they were able to serve food. The trucks bring more food options for the base populace at a reasonable price, allowing people on base to stay on base to find something appetizing. "The food is really good and they are consistently available," said Senior Airman Caleb Daniels, 460th Communications Squadron cyber transport technician. "They have good options and because it's on base, you don't have to deal with off-base traffic." The food trucks are available at night as well, allowing personnel who work night shifts the opportunity for a food option on base when the exchange is closed. "We are constantly looking for new food options for base customers and we prefer they do not have to leave the base to find quality food at a fair price," Sear said.
