Commander's Action Line: Addressing your "speed bump" concerns

As you know, we are building a better BAFB each day with numerous initiatives ongoing to improve our missions while we improve our installation and quality of life. These include repaving streets and parking lots, re-roofing buildings, adding new capabilities, improving our security, and much more.

Some of these initiatives include improving our gates while we ensure our Defenders have the time to react to future / potential attacks and recently adding speed tables near our gate access points.

We are closely examining speed table placement and working with the City of Aurora on better traffic light timing at the 6th Ave and Mississippi Gates. Our future plans include gate upgrades and permanent concrete speed tables. Longer term, we plan on designing traffic management curves at the 6th Ave Gate, typical of other Air Force Bases.

I do ask for your continued patience and support as our outstanding Mission Support Group leads the many initiatives to Build a Better Buckley Together (B3T) while they protect us against current and future security threats. I also thank you for your patience as we tackle our most urgent priorities.

I'll see you and your families at our BAFB annual Fun Fest -- and thanks for your continued professional service!

Many Thanks,
Colonel Wagner
