Wing CC releases update to strategic guidance Published June 29, 2015 By Airman 1st Class Emily E. Amyotte 460th Space Wing Public Affairs BUCKLEY AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. -- Col. John Wagner, 460th Space Wing commander, released an update to his strategic guidance for 2014-16 on June 12 due to meeting last years' goals. The wing strategic guidance is typically released at the beginning of a wing commanders tour, laying out his or her expectations for their command. Wagner's wing priorities serve to organize and focus the operations, actions and efforts of the 460th Space Wing toward goals and measurable end states. The four new wing priorities are: - Maximize missile warning and Overhead Persistent Infrared operations - Deliver Outstanding installation support - Support and reward Team Buckley personnel and their families - Integrate the Air Force inspection system into the 460th Space Wing "We must all strive to meet and exceed our mission requirements; ensure we execute the intent of our commanders; maximize our mission impact to combatant commanders around the globe and best support our mission partners and tenant units," Wagner said. "We will build a better Buckley together." The goals of the 460th SW are executing the mission, leading people, managing resources and improving the unit. The wing's priorities are aligned with Air Force Space Command's and the Air Force's priorities-to continue to strengthen the nuclear enterprise, partner with joint and coalition team to win today's fight, develop and care for Airmen and their families, modernize our air and space inventories, organizations and training, and to recapture acquisition excellence and prepare for tomorrow. "We will strive to make the 460th Space Wing and Buckley AFB the best place in the U.S. Air Force to live and work," Wagner said. "All 460th SW personnel should understand, own and take pride in their duty to our nation and our Air Force as they provide critical contributions to mission success in our nation's defense. We will and must continue to improve our ability to provide reliable and uninterrupted missile warning, battlespace awareness and technical intelligence that increases national security and enhances missile defense. In doing so, we will continually seek to improve mission execution, security, safety and quality of life for our wing, our tenant units and our families."
