Buckley to host 17th Annual Military Retiree Appreciation Day

The 460th Space Wing will host the 17th Annual Military Retiree Appreciation Day, Saturday, June 13 on Buckley Air Force Base, to honor military retirees from all branches of the service in northern Colorado.

Retired service members and their families are invited to attend activities at the Leadership Development Center, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Doors open at 8:30 a.m. with the opening ceremony starting at 9 a.m.

Special guest speakers include Col John W. Wagner, 460th SW Commander giving the State of the Base briefing and Mike Coffman, state representative, giving the Colorado Legislative update.

Dozens of support agencies, retiree and veterans groups will be on hand to provide information and answer questions from 10:00 a.m. to 1 p.m. Free breakfast and lunch will be provided and the Band Vets in Tune will provide background music while you visit with support agencies.

Participating organizations include the Veterans Administration, the Social Security Administration, Medicare/Medicaid, Arapahoe County Veterans Service Office, Express Scripts, National Association for Uniformed Services, Military Officers Association, the Air Force Sergeants Association, Retired Enlisted Association, the United Veterans Council, Colorado State Department of Veterans Affairs, United Healthcare Alliance (TriCare), Fort Logan Nation Cemetery, Disabled American Veterans, Delta Dental and Base ID Card office will be open specifically for Retiree's and much more.
