Angel Tree to help DOD families in need Published Dec. 8, 2014 By Airman 1st Class Samantha Saulsbury 460th Space Wing Public Affairs BUCKLEY AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. -- First sergeants and the Buckley Spouses Group joined forces to set up a holiday Angel Tree at The Exchange. Open to all military, Department of Defense civilians and their family members, the Angel Tree provides an opportunity to take care of Buckley families by purchasing gifts for children ages 17 and under. "In these times we have wonderful opportunities to make sure everybody gets a Christmas," said Master Sgt. Troy Drasher, 460th Mission Support Group and Wing Staff first sergeant. "It's just another way to make sure nobody gets left behind." Individuals can apply for assistance from the Angel Tree by filling out the application available at the chapel or from unit first sergeants. Applications will be accepted by unit first sergeants or superintendents until Dec. 12. If you need help, or if you know someone who would benefit from having help with Christmas gifts this year, please fill out an application, said Lindsay Kindt, Buckley Spouses Group member. "We have so many people who are willing to help out and buy gifts," she added. Members wanting to buy gifts for the children on the Angel Tree may bring unwrapped presents to the chapel until Dec. 17. Families receiving assistance from other groups, such as the Salvation Army or Operation Homefront, will not be eligible to apply for the Angel Tree program. For more information, contact your unit first sergeant or superintendent.
