Buckley recognizes Domestic Violence Awareness Month Published Oct. 7, 2014 460th Space Wing Public Affairs BUCKLEY AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. -- Team Buckley is taking a stand against domestic violence during the month of October to promote Domestic Violence Awareness Month. The base will be hosting two events to raise awareness of unwanted violent behavior and the negative affects it has on mission readiness. A paper drive is being held through the end of October to assist Gateway Battered Women's Shelter. Paper good donations include: paper towels, toilet paper, diapers, baby wipes, kleenex, paper plates and napkins. Donations can be dropped off at boxes located in the fitness center on base, Bldg. 606, the Buckley Pharmacy or the VA Joint Venture Buckley Clinic on Colfax Avenue. A Sweetheart Soiree filled with food, fun and entertainment will be held 6:30-10:00 p.m. Oct. 18 at the Panther Den. Childcare will be available through the Give Parents a Break program.
