Air Force Public Affairs is hosting the 2014 American Airman Video Contest starting July 1 for all Guard, Reserve and active-duty Air Force members in good administrative standing.

Contestants will shoot a video no longer than 30 seconds using a smartphone or video camera telling their story of service to include why they're in the Air Force, what they do in the Air Force and why they love what they do in the Air Force.

For submission, the video must be uploaded to a personal YouTube channel. The video link must be emailed along with the contestant's name, rank, base, home unit and major command to the Air Force Public Affairs Agency social media team at usafvideos@us.af.mil.

Submissions are due by 11:59 p.m. CST July 29. The top 10 finalists will be announced Aug. 12, and their videos will be uploaded to the Air Force BlueTube channel. Voters can "like" their favorite videos, and the video with the most "likes" will win. Likes will be recorded until 12 p.m. CST Aug. 22.

The winner of the video contest will be publicly announced Sept. 15 and the video debuted at the September Air Force Association Conference in Washington D.C.
