Caring for People forum shines light on local issues Published April 1, 2014 By Airman Emily E. Amyotte 460th Space Wing Public Affairs BUCKLEY AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. -- Team Buckley hosted the annual Caring for People forum March 28 at the Buckley chapel as a way for Team Buckley members to share opinions on local issues. During the forum, active-duty, guard and reserve service members, family members, retirees, and civilians discussed various topics that affect the military and community today. The forum was a chance for Team Buckley's voice to be heard, addressing topics such as health and wellness or family and spouse support. "One time a year we can gather information from the community in an informal way and have an open discussion," said Christina Stump, 460th Space Wing community support coordinator and director of the forum. Roughly 50 attendees split into work groups, each with their own discussion topic. Each work group rated its top three issues to present to the entire forum. All attendees voted to appoint the most prominent issues for base leadership to review and address. "I look forward to addressing the issues that were brought up," Stump said. "It's the invested interest of the people. Whether it's a small or large crowd, the number of people doesn't matter; it's their opinion that does."
