All Department of Defense members now have access to the Human Performance Resource Center, a new health education website.

The HPRC is an online resource offering evidence-based information to help DOD members and their families achieve total fitness and human-performance optimization.
According to the HPRC website, optimal performance isn't just about eating right and being physically healthy. It's psychological, social, behavioral, spiritual, nutritional, physical and environmental fitness wrapped up into Total Force Fitness.

All the provided information is to help strengthen every aspect of optimal performance.
"It has been developed by the Uniform Services University of Health Sciences in partnership with Consortium for Health and Military Performance," said Alan Muriera, Buckley Health and Wellness Center health promotion manager and health educator. "That is who created it and made it a clearinghouse of evidence based on information that has validity, not just stuff picked from other resources that have no research behind it."

HPRC offers information on many areas of interests; family and relationships, dietary supplements, and mind tactics are a few of the options available to research and find guides to improvement.

"I think its great," said Muriera, "because it covers the four pillars of health and focuses on the whole person, making human performance optimization a good thing. It prepares people mentally, physically, spiritually, emotionally and socially to do their job and to complete their mission."

Under the Force Health Protection and Readiness Program, HPRC makes more information readily available to all military and civilian sources.
